Zooey Tackles Terabithia
Will this be a successful adaptation?
Epic news from the Hollywood Reporter about two very interesting subjects. The first is my gal Zooey Deschanel who lit up the screen in Almost Famous and did her best in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. She's quirky, she's cute, what's not to like?
Guess what she's agreed to be in? Only the most devastating teen book in the world, "Bridge to Terabithia". I don't know if they will stay true to the book but I remember vividly reading this puppy and being destroyed. It's a pretty effective emotional ride but I won't start with spoilers even this far out.
Let's just say that Zooey + Terabithia could = an amazing young person's film. One with depth and life, something better than the lighthearted fare we've recieved a steady steam of. If these fools are smart they'll throw me a set visit so I can wax poetic a bit more on my love of these two subjects… we'd call it "Fanboy's Big Vacation" and do it in the bright lights for our people over at the Mouse House.
