'Zero Theorem', 'Night Moves', 'Magic in the Moonlight' & 'Jarhead 2' in Today's MPAA Ratings

A little Woody, Gilliam and Reichardt

MPAA Ratings for The Zero Theorum, Magic in the Moonlight, Night Moves and Jarhead 2
Latest MPAA Ratings: BULLETIN NO: 2316

Today's batch of MPAA ratings is a little more independent than normal, which is a little surprising considering we're headed into summer movie season, but I guess titles from Woody Allen, Terry Gilliam and Kelly Reichardt will serve as more interesting to those of us that like a little something more than just superheroes and giant robots.

First up is Reichardt's new film Night Moves starring Jesse Eiesenberg and Dakota Fanning. I missed it in Toronto last year and the domestic trailer just recently premiered, giving you a first look at the supposed suspense thriller, but knowing Reichardt I have a feeling it's probably quite far afield from what we normally think of when it comes to suspenseful thrillers.

Next is Woody Allen's new film Magic in the Moonlight starring Emma Stone and Colin Firth. The film scored a PG-13 rating and Sony Classics has yet to announce an official release date. Considering it's set in the South of France I think it's pretty safe to say a Cannes debut is expected.

Next is Gilliam's The Zero Theorem starring Christoph Waltz. Well Go USA is expected to release it later this year, but not date has yet been set for the now-R rated film. In fact, I'm not even certain Well Go is releasing it yet as only the production company, Zero Theorem Limited, was listed on the MPAA bulletin.

Finally, a bit of a surprise, but apparently Universal Studios Home Entertainment greenlit Jarhead 2: Field Of Fire and it's now finished and rated. I couldn't find any information on the film, but I think it's safe to say Sam Mendes didn't direct this one.

I have included the complete bulletin directly below.

I haven't even heard of Jarhead 2 and a quick Google search yields nothing. I never expected a film like Jarhead to have a straight to DVD sequel.
