Four New Pictures from 'Zero Dark Thirty'

The lid on Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty is about to be blown off with the first screenings scheduled for Monday, November 26 in Los Angeles and New York and screenings set up in cities across the country for various group and guild members in early December. There are few films left this year that have me really excited, but I will say the fact I'll be seeing The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Zero Dark Thirty soon has me as excited as the prospect of also seeing Django Unchained and Les Miserables as well.

2012 has been an odd year for films. Yesterday I received a big batch of awards screeners that included The Dark Knight Rises, Cloud Atlas, Argo, Anna Karenina, Brave and more... Yet, the one that screamed quality louder than the rest was one Magic Mike, a film I am pretty much convinced will be among my top ten at this point and a movie I hope you have made a point to watch.

None of that is why you're here though, you want to see the new pictures from Zero Dark Thirty, a film that currently runs 2 hours and 39 minutes and word on Jessica Chastain is building as we speak. How good she is in the film is yet to be determined, but it would seem recnt buzz claiming she's a contender wasn't ill-conceived and outside of the one action shot above she is in three of the four new stills recently revealed by Sony, one featuring co-star Kyle Chandler.

For those not in the know, Zero Dark Thirty focuses on the black ops mission to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, which culminated in his death in May 2011 during a high-stakes raid on his compound in Pakistan.
