Yakin Writing New 'Conan the Barbarian'
Hmmm... wonder who the front runner is...
News out of Variety lets us know that Warner Bros. has set Boaz Yakin to write and possibly direct Conan the Barbarian, a new take on the classic character.
Warners is eyeing an early 2007 production start. Yakin is said to be a big fan of Conan and his concept is more faithful to the Robert E. Howard story than were the two Dino De Laurentiis-produced Conan films that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.
My only question is who will play the big barbarian? Will this be the movie that officially paints The Rock as Schwarzenegger's Hollywood replacement?
