Writers Guild Screenplay Noms Announced
The Writers Guild of America announced today their nominees for outstanding achievement in writing for the screen today and the indys pulled off a majority of the Original Screenplay noms while the bigger boys pulled in the Adapted noms.
The Writers Guild of America announced today their nominees for outstanding achievement in writing for the screen today and the indys pulled off a majority of the Original Screenplay noms while the bigger boys pulled in the Adapted noms.
For Original Screenplay the nominations went to Bend It Like Beckham written by Gurinder Chadha and Paul Mayeda Berges and Guljit Bindra, In America written by Jim Sheridan & Naomi Sheridan & Kirsten Sheridan, Steven Knight's Dirty Pretty Things, Tom McCarthy's The Station Agent, and Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation.
As for Adapted Screenplay the noms went to American Splendor written by Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman, Anthony Minghella's Cold Mountain, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King written by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Peter Jackson, Brian Helgeland's Mystic River, and Gary Ross' Seabiscuit.
