Write for RopeofSilicon
The Site
Want to write about movies? Want to write DVD reviews? How about gossip on all the celebrity goings ons? Well, RopeofSilicon is opening its doors for the first time to new writers. When the site began in 2003 it was just Brad Brevet, since then he has brought in regular contributer Laremy Legel and Award Show Guru Andre Rivas. However, we need more... and that could mean you.

There are a few things to consider when applying, applications not meeting all the requirements will not be considered. The list of requirements is as follows:

  • You MUST be over the age of 21 years-old and a United States resident. Proof will be required.

  • You MUST be able to commit to the position and be serious about your application. Traditionally we ask that you make a commitment of at least 6 months and agree to fulfill all the duties of the job to which you are applying.

  • You MUST be a good writer. This can include a variety of things but most importantly it means your work does not contain spelling and grammatical errors and you read through your work before publishing. RopeofSilicon takes pride in its writers and hopes that you will take pride in the work you contribute.

  • You MUST have some .HTML knowledge. This does not mean you need to know how to code an entire website, but it does mean that you know how to make text italicized, bold and how to create hyperlinks as examples.

  • It is helpful if you have some knowledge on how to manipulate images using programs such as Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks or even Microsoft Paint works. This is not a deal breaker but will certainly help.
Check out the available positions below and follow the instructions of each to apply for any of the positions. Only serious applications will be considered, so please don't waste our time or yours.
