Woody Allen Picks Up Puss in Boots
Will this flick live up to the billing?
I really cannot wait to see how Woody Allen's next film is going to turn out as he has patched together an eclectic and interesting group of names to bring it to life. Today The Hollywood Reporter announces Antonio Banderas is the latest to join the fray as the Spanish actor will star alongside Indian Freido Pinto, British-Australian Naomi Watts, American Josh Brolin and Brit Anthony Hopkins.
The film marks a return to Europe for Allen after his upcoming release Whatever Works starring Larry David and Evan Rachel Wood has filmed in Woody's favorite place… New York. The new film shoots in London this summer and reteams the director with financer, Mediapro, the Spain-based company which also funded Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a.k.a. my favorite film of 2008.

wow the title of this article made me scared. . .i thought for a minute woody allen was going to direct Puss and Boots
@popeofchina:
i meant to write puss IN boots*
I know popeofchina, Brad totally did that on purpose. Then again, would you have actually opened up an article that involves Antonio Banderas starring in anything? He had to get page hits somehow, I guess….
Well, I'm less than happy about this – I just watched 'Thick As Thieves' and it confirmed my opinion of Banderas as one the very worst actors working today. I only hope his role is very small because he has the potential to ruin anything he's in.
@Chuck Bartowski: Ha, I felt I had to spice up the Woody Allen stories a little since I have posted three of them this week and all for the same movie.
@cmac: I am not down on Antonio as much as you are and actually think the combination of Woody Allen and such a distinctive actor as Banderas will bring an interesting touch to this one. I am quite interested in the casting… perhaps just too much optimism. :)
