Williams, Howard and Wood are 'Bronte' Sisters

Yowsers, one of those names just doesn't seem to fit anymore

A couple of years ago if I labeled off the names Michelle Williams, Bryce Dallas Howard and Evan Rachel Wood you would probably have said, "Oh that girl from 'Dawson's Creek'?" "Who?" and "Is she that chick that is in those indie films? What was that one…? Thirteen?"

Now we look at them and think about that girl that married Heath Ledger, had his kid and was nominated for an Oscar. The one that is the daughter of Ron Howard and starred in those two Shyamalan movies and Spider-Man 3, and that icky girl that had "simulated/real" sex with now boyfriend Marilyn Manson in his new video "Heart Shaped Glasses".

I am here to offer up one more way to look at all three of them, they will star as the Bronte sisters in Bronte, a biopic written and to be directed by Charles Sturridge. The Bronte sisters and their brother Branwell grew up in isolation on the Yorkshire moors and went on to write some of the most enduring novels in the canon of English literature — Charlotte's "Jane Eyre," Emily's "Wuthering Heights" and Anne's "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall."

As children, they created epic fantasy worlds to entertain themselves, led by the charismatic Branwell, but when he descended into alcohol and opium abuse, the sisters had to find their own way in a world dominated by strict patriarchal conventions. This initially forced them to disguise their identities by publishing under male pseudonyms.
