What is Jim Cameron Going to 'Dive' into Next?

Variety refers to it as "The Jim Cameron guessing game" when in fact there is no guessing involved with this one as they are announcing Jim Cameron's second to next project in which he has tapped Laeta Kalogridis to pen the script.

The film is called The Dive and it is described as the true, tragic love story of freediver Francisco "Pipin" Ferraras and his wife Audrey Mestre. Kalogridis is co-writing Cameron's Battle Angel with him, a project Cameron has been attached to for some time based on the Japanese Manga series of graphic novels by Yukito Kishiro. The movie combines the first three books, Ido, Alita, and Hugo.

The Dive is expected to be Cameron's follow-up to hsi upcoming film currently titled Project 880 a project that is actually speculated as being either Battle Angel or Avatar.

Cameron will direct Dive for 20th Century Fox as it will tell the story of two pre-eminent free-divers who, with but a breath of air in their lungs, plunged to unimaginable depths before swimming back to the surface. She died during an attempt to better her world record to 557.7 feet.
