Watch: Trailer for 'The Humbling' Starring Al Pacino

Having its North American premiere in Toronto this week

Barry Levinson is back at Toronto after delivering the dull eco-horror-thriller The Bay back in 2012 (my review here), this time with Al Pacino in The Humbling based on Philip Roth's final novel. Today, after the film has already premiered at the Venice Film Festival, the first trailer has arrived ahead of its North American premiere here in Toronto.

The film tells the story of a legendary stage actor (Pacino) who has an affair with a lesbian woman half his age at a secluded country house in Connecticut. Mandy Patinkin, Dianne Wiest and Greta Gerwig co-star.

Watch the trailer below, I'm currently looking to see this one on Friday.

Well, at least it looks like Pacino is giving a solid 75%. And I didn't realize it was more of a dramedy.

Looks pretty damn swell plus I adore Greta Gerwig and Dianne Wiest is one of the very best actresses out there, I wish she'd do more.

Looks okay, but i love Greta Gerwig! So its a rental.

I wasn't that impressed by the book (not the best by Roth) but it still was entertaining. The trailer looks quite alright and with Pacino seemingly playing a character, he took great interest in (he bought the rights to the book years ago), I am looking forward to this (and "Manglehorn" of course).
