Paramount has released the first trailer for Michael Bay's Pain and Gain starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson as a pair of criminal bodybuilders involved in an extortion ring and a kidnapping plot.
The film is based on a 1999 Miami New Times article and along with Johnson and Wahlberg the cast includes Ed Harris, Tony Shalhoub, Anthony Mackie, Rob Corddry, Tony Plana, Ken Jeong, Bar Paly and the reliably funny Rebel Wilson.
Pain and Gain is set to hit theaters on April 26, 2013. Check out the trailer below.
I don't know, I was always under the impression that this wasn't going to look like a Michael Bay film, that it would be a smaller budgeted dramatic piece. That's certainly not the case. Michael Bay just can't get away from himself.
I did like the "After this is over, we'll all go camping." Wahlberg has a way with lines.
this looks amazing
I agree with Arthur, I was looking forward to a complete change of pace but it looks like that won't be the case.
With that being said, I still want to see it. Looks like an interesting story.
Holy crap. This looks fucking atrocious.
Is it bad that I kinda want to see this?
Not at all, I'm in the same camp as you.
We can all see it together, I guess.
And this is why we give you grief...
Oh lighten up. It looks fun.
I kid. Either way, to me it looked like rejected fake trailer from Tropic Thunder...
To each their own, as they say.
Michael Bays knows how to make things look cool, I'll give him that. His movies never fail to entertain me, even if they're usually terrible.
This looks good. I've never watched any Transformers movies, but I think Michael Bay gets a ridiculously exaggerated bad rap.
On a personal note - I really like three of his movies - Bad Boys 2, Armageddon, and The Rock.
Watch the second and third Transformers movies; that rap won't look so ridiculously exaggerated.
i dont care if the narrative is bad. this is going to be a fun movie
I accepted a long time ago that Bay can do no good. But I will rent this at some point in the distant future.
Wow, for once I actually thought that a Michael Bay movie looked promising and then I saw the trailer...that looks awful.
Looks pretty entertaining.
Looks kinda goofy. Dwayne Johnson is a monster! As a former college football player and a very amateur body builder I will more than likely see this...not in theaters though.
Only Dwayne Johnson could make The Rock look like a bitch.
I do kind of want to see this though, looks like a fun time.
No thanks. I'm done with Michael Bay films. I can enjoy a stupid movie, but this looks way too stupid. Idk if Bay was going for it but this looks extremely homoerotic as well. Kind of like Point Break.
Bad Boys was a fun, action film, perhaps Bay can recapture some of his long lost 90s mojo.
Thems the facts
Def. got that Bad Boys vibe. I like Johnson and am always rooting for him. Looking forward to checking it out. Looks decent.
