I'm not sure why you'd want to debut a trailer the same morning as the Oscar nominations, but apparently Fox Searchlight doesn't consider one of the biggest news stories of each year to be worthy competition and has premiered the trailer for Danny Boyle's Trance. I like the confidence, but I think they could have waited a few hours.

Not to be a spoiler or anything, but you just might see me discuss Trance again very soon on my Top 50 Most Anticipated Movies list. The film stars James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel and Rosario Dawson and McAvoy plays Simon, an assistant at an auction house who masterminds an art heist and teams up with a gang of thieves, but suffers a blow to the head and wakes up with amnesia.

Simon is the only one who knows where the painting's location is and after his continued failure to remember, the gang begins to suspect duplicity on his part and hires a female hypnotist to get into his brain.

The film hits UK theaters on March 27 while a domestic release date has yet to be announced.

I like Boyle. It'll be worth seeing for the camerawork alone.

Danny Boyle, in a British magazine interview, had such interesting things to say about the themes and subject matter of this movie, but the trailer sells it as another standard UK thriller. It almost feels like something that can go straight to video.

Danny Boyle's a director I greatly admire. Will definitely be seeing this one when it comes out.

Love Danny Boyle's work, and I really like this trailer. Also, it's awesome to see Rosario Dawson in a movie like this. She's been good in a few great movies, and the best thing about a lot of bad ones. Hopefully this will help give her career a bit of a boost.

Like a lot of Boyle's work, and some of the shots in the trailer make this a must see.

I will see any Danny Boyle movie. For him and for the cast, I am excited for this one!

Memento-esc Danny Boyle thriller. So excited!

Very effective trailer, this could be really good. So far I've enjoyed all of Danny Boyle's films, this one looks to repeat that trend. Nice to see McAvoy getting to use his Scottish brogue for a change.
