Warner Bros. Acquires Ryan Gosling's Directorial Debut 'How To Catch a Monster'

The fantasy thriller finds a home a major studio

Ryan GoslingRyan Gosling is making his feature directorial debut with How To Catch a Monster, a film he also wrote and will star in alongside Saoirse Ronan, Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith, Ben Mendelsohn and Rob Zabrecky.

Warner Bros. has just acquired the film which is described as a fantasy thriller in which a single mother is swept into a dark underworld, while her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town.

The studio spent a reported $3 million to acquire the film, which will most likely be released in 2014.
