'Wallace and Gromit' Sequel Will Be Made
Hmmm, DreamWorks and Aardman break-up doesn't matter...
Everyone has been reporting on the break-up of the filmmaking partnership between DreamWorks Animation and Aardman Animations, but this was reported a long time ago, it is just that it was made official recently. However, the break-up is not going to stop Aardman from making a sequel to the DreamWorks/Aardman Oscar-winning flick Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Aardman spokesman Arthur Sheriff told Reuters, "Wallace and Gromit are alive and kicking… There is a project on the table right now. It could be television, it could be a feature film. That depends on how the storyline develops. It will go into production as soon as he has finished writing it."
Okay, so maybe it won't be a direct sequel in as much as it will just be more Wallace and Gromit hijinks.
There was no word on a storyline or any other goodies, but based on the love for these characters, despite the bad box-office which contributed greatly to the break-up, I can only assume they are going to get all the repeat offenders back. In Curse of the Were-Rabbit Peter Sallis reprised his role voicing Wallace, Ralph Fiennes played the evil Victor Quartermaine and Helena Bonham Carter provided the voice of Lady Tottington. If you haven't checked that one out you absolutely must, it is fantastic, get more on it here.
