Wahlberg Joins 'The Departed'
Mark Wahlberg joins Martin Scorsese's next.
In a film that already stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon, Martin Scorsese hopes to bring as much star power to his next film as he did for The Aviator as Mark Wahlberg is in negotiations to join The Departed, a Warner Bros. police thriller.
The film is actually an American remake of the Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs, set in Boston, centering on a gangster (Damon) who infiltrates the police department and a cop (DiCaprio) who infiltrates the gangs at the same time. The two find out that a mole is in each organization and race to find each other's identity. Wahlberg would play a cop who's a key figure in DiCaprio's life.
