Vin Diesel Just Wants to Dance

Oh, and I guess there might be another Riddick

Upon hearing the news Riddick is the #1 title atop the DVD and Blu-ray sales charts, Universal apparently called Vin Diesel and shared their enthusiasm as well as informed the actor they want to begin developing another sequel. In the following video, which Diesel posted on his Facebook page, he dances around to Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" and Beyonce's "Drunk in Love" while giving his fans the update saying:

"I'm just excited, and happy, and I'm shouting out to you guys to say thank you. Universal just called me and told me Riddick is number one on the DVD charts. There's no way Riddick would have been made without you guys. You know that. and you guys have been a part of our page since 2012 and remember how arduous a road it was to get the movie made, and to make it rated 'R,' and to do it with such a low budget. It's a win for all of us and I really, really thank you so much. Yeah, I'm excited, and of course, Universal also says they want to develop the next one."

Personally, I though Riddick was terrible, and this is coming from someone that liked Pitch Black and doesn't actually mind The Chronicles of Riddick. However, if there is more to come in the future, so be it, but there is a big difference between the studio saying they are "developing" one versus greenlighting one.

Watch the Vin's video below and don't feel bad if you are a little weirded out by it... I was. I mean, what's with the microphone and I find the number of poses he strikes hilarious. Just me?

I thought the biggest problem with Riddick was the dialogue. It was a case where they actually could've been well-served hiring an additional screenwriter, if only to vastly improve the dialogue.

I'll still give Riddick another chance...though to my mind the best entry in the series by far is the game Escape from Butcher Bay, one of my favorite games ever.

As far as I'm concerned there has never been a good Riddick movie, but that game is good enough to justify the character.

Yeah.. Riddick was pretty awful so I have zero interest in a fourth film.

If the fourth film is just Vin Diesel dancing, I'm in

More unbelieveable than another Riddick movie being announced is that Vin Diesel can simulate dancing....but seriously, can't we use this money to eliminate some disease or hunger?...surely this cannot be true.

I actually really enjoyed "Riddick," and I will be watching it again later. To do that with a low budget is very impressive. The lack of Karl Urban's Vanko was a turn-off. If they raised the budget some with the next film and he actually figures out what's going on with Furya and takes on Karl Urban, it would really freakin awesome
Fact: Vin Diesel mortaged his house to fund "Riddick," that's how much he likes the character. Now if only he'd return to play Triplexxx again...

Well...that was....weird. The good news is that I may actually be a better dancer than someone on Earth.

I wonder if this is actually a casting hint for the new Riddick movie. Beyoncé & Katy haters start replying in 3... 2... 1...
