Quoted by Deadline, Vince Vaughn weighed in with the following statement regarding the controversy surrounding a joke featured in his upcoming comedy The Dilemma, in which he refers to electric cars as "gay".

First the offending trailer and then the comment.

"Let me add my voice of support to the people outraged by the bullying and persecution of people for their differences, whatever those differences may be. Comedy and joking about our differences breaks tension and brings us together. Drawing dividing lines over what we can and cannot joke about does exactly that; it divides us. Most importantly, where does it stop?"

The Dilemma hits theaters on January 14, 2011 and stars Vaughn alongside Kevin James, Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly, Channing Tatum and Queen Latifah. Rion Howard directed the feature for Universal Pictures. You can click here for more information.
