UNDERWORLD Unrated Extended Cut DVD Coming May 25th

Underworld,

the dark, sexy and action-packed story of the eternal battle between vampires and

their mortal enemies, the werewolves, stars Kate Beckinsale (Pearl Harbor)

and Scott Speedman (TV's "Felicity") and has become a cult-film hit of gothic

proportions. Now, on May 25, 2004, Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment will satisfy

the bloodlust even further with the release of director and creator Len Wiseman's

original vision for the film – the Underworld Unrated Extended Cut, available

as a two-disc DVD set for $34.95 SLP.

Certain to fulfill the most ardent fan, the Underworld Unrated Extended Cut

feature film includes 12 minutes of additional footage, plus 11 minutes of footage

that replace existing scenes with different angles and takes. Not only that, but

this new two-disc DVD set, packaged in a unique translucent cover, boasts all new

bonus features including audio commentary by director Len Wiseman and leading cast

members Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman; a 45-minute documentary examining the

history of vampires and werewolves; a cinematography featurette; a special effects

featurette, a production design featurette; and an outtake reel. As an added bonus,

each DVD comes packaged with a collectible production sketch notebook and a mini

Underworld comic book.

In addition to the extensive, all new special features listed above, the

Underworld Unrated Extended Cut offers special features from the previously

released theatrical version DVD: director and writer commentary, technical

commentary, and several featurettes including The Sights and Sounds of Underworld,

Creature Effects, Stunts and a Making of featurette.

In the Underworld, Vampires are a secret clan of modern aristocratic sophisticates
