The Ultimate Oscar Preview!
RopeofSilicon brings you THE CONTENDERS!
Are you an Oscar prognosticator? Perhaps you would like to watch the Oscars but have never heard of any of the films in contention. Either way RopeofSilicon has the answer as Andre Rivas, Laremy Legel and myself have looked the CONTENDERS up and down and bring you our indepth insights into 27 individual films, a look at the special effects and best animation categories and finally a look at the rest of the films we feel are in line for some major awards this year.
If anything this will give you a better idea of what the Academy is thinking before the nominations are announced on January 23 and perhaps a holiday movie guide for those of you that like to catch all the films in contention before the big show rolls around. While we don't dive too deep into the below-the-line awards there are hints of costume, editing and cinematography candidates sprinkled throughout, but don't expect much in the way of foreign film and documentary candidates… not exactly our cup o' tea, although I will say, "Go Pan's Labyrinth!"

1) World Trade Center is a horrible movie Stone's worst movie ever!!!!! I hated it, critics hated it and almost everybody hated it.
2)I loved Bobby but I dont think it has a chance in the Oscar the small film slot is going to the wonderful LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE
3)I didnt love Blood Diamond and i think that the chances for is two leading male to get an Oscar nom is very small and lets not talk about the screenplay small small small chances.
4)I want to see Wahlberg getting nominated with Martine Sheen not with Nicholson
5)THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA Oscar chances do begin and end with Meryl Streep dont expect Emily Blunt to be nominated
6) Eddie Murphy will not win the Oscar! but Jennifer Hudson will!!!!! and it is not certine that it will be nomniated for best picture
7)Forest Whitaker bigest competition for best actor is Sacha Baron Cohen not Leo
8) Letters From Iwo Jima is with no doubt the best movie of the year it is achingly, sophisticated, different absolutely a masterpiece. And for these who say that Marty is going to win because enough is enough lets me remind you that Altman never won an Oscar and Altman was a better director than Marty
9)Little Miss Sunshine best screenplay 100% and I realy realy want best picture nom
