Wow, Johnny Depp,The Dark Knight, Pixar, Seven, Quentin Tarantino and Fight Club are all great. And once you include Seven and Fight Club do you really need to mention David Fincher? I'm not going to lie about being a a superhero-loving, nerdy fanboy, but I can agree with you on matters such as Woody Allen's excellent Vicky Christina Barcelona, which I believe you named the best film of the year, so why are you picking on all these great things which are not only fanboy fixations but cultural fixations in general. I am not impressed by this. Didn't you say you liked The Dark Knight? These "fanboy" obsessions are important to people who don't drool over comic books as well. Yeah, people obsess over casting rumors; it can be fun, and it can be grating. It's just part of the entertainment industry, calm down. And by the way, Charlie and the Chocolate factory was great, and you know as well as I do that Depp is playing Dillinger.

I don't think JD is in everything and I am definitely excited about Public Enemies but to be fair I look forward to all Johnny Depp films. Just for the record, this is NOT because I am a 'fangirl' I have liked Johnny Depp long before I even considered boys in anyway a factor in my thought process. I've watched his films from I was 8 (admittedly, not an entirely suitable age given most of his films) and he always pulls off an amazing performance no matter what. It annoys me to no extent that because he did some films that he said himself were for his children to watch people consider him a sellout or when people jump on the bandwagon without even seeing most of his other films despite the amazing performances he can do. And it annoys me even more that he then gets a bashing from other film 'critics' saying he's overrated, which is always bound to happen when someone reaches his level of success, no doubt Meryl Streep will get abuse soon for 'selling out' for doing Mamma Mia, I mean it did well so it must deserve it…
I'm not saying this article does abuse him, I'm just saying I'm tired of these chain of events from these 'critics'. And I also think Robert Downey Jr will be the next one, his films are doing too well now, he'll need taken down a peg probably…

I certainly have to disagree with post #6 JD certainly isn't in everything. He hasn't had a movie since 2007 and he is never in the news so the media have to pick whatever little tidbit they can find to print about him. It is comical how they come up with these roles for him. The fans know if Johnny is in a film it will be good.

I agree entirely. The fanboys, and fangirls more so, are not helping Depp at all. They're slowly cheapening his credibility by going to his films just to watch him and nothing else. It gives people the false impression that he's just a pretty boy all over again, which is what he's been fighting against his whole career, and I wish the crazy fans would just take a step back and calm the F down.

alright. so i am actually not believing this that much. i don't know why they would make a three stooges remake but who knows?! i personally, love johnny depp. but, i don't know if this is just a false rumor. i'm very spectacle of this rumor. i'm excited for all his other movies coming up: dr. parnassus, alice in wonderland, public enemies, etc. i love johnny depp as an actor. he is just the best. but, we will have to wait and see for this rumor.
