'Twilight' Sequel Finds Its Wolves to Howl at the 'New Moon'
Five actors prepped to kick some vampire ass
Summit Entertainment announced today the casting of five actors joining the cast of The Twilight Saga: New Moon as Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman will join Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob Black. The six will play werewolves making up the film's ensemble Wolf Pack, who in Stephenie Meyer's novel take the side of the humans in their fight against the evil breed of vampires.
The five joining the cast are all making their feature film debuts (outside of Meraz who played a Core Warrior in The New World) and are all of American Indian descent, with Sioux, Purepecha and Hualapai among the tribes represented. Rene Haynes serves as casting director and is well-known for her work on Native American projects such as Terrence Malick's The New World and Kevin Costner's Dances With Wolves.
New Moon is filming in Vancouver and Italy and serves as the second installment of its filmed franchise Twilight, which debuted in theaters in 2008 to monstrous box-office returns. The film follows Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) who is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black. Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested.
The film hits theaters on November 20 and will be closely followed by the third film Eclipse on June 30, 2010.

twilight was good… could have been better… The book was amazing… please make New Moon more like the book!!!
@vicky_1918: they might not have wanted to act in this one. They were only really small back up roles in twilight so they might not have banked on getting this role. Plus they might have been changed for the same reason they were debating over changing jacob…they would really need to beef up and some of them might not be able to/want to
There names were not mentioned in the movie. But in the book, it was Sam and Quil. I would have liked to see them both return to the saga. Summit only listed one character "Jared" as one of the packs, a Brandon Michael Vayda. What about Bronson, Kiowa, Alex, and Tyson, who are they going to play?
Production has started filming yesterday. No other news as of today.
