Travolta Taking 'Pelham' with Denzel
Remake adds another impressive name
Tony Scott is set to add another big name to his upcoming remake The Taking of Pelham One Two Three as John Travolta is in negotiations to join Denzel Washington.
The original was released in 1974 and starred Walter Matthau and Robert "Quint" Shaw. Washington is set to play the role originated by Matthau as chief detective of security for the subway, while Travolta will take on Shaw's character, the leader of a quartet that hijacks a Gotham subway train and threatens to kill the passengers unless a ransom is paid.
The script was written by David Koepp and production is set to begin early next year.
