Trailer for Terence Davies' 'The Deep Blue Sea' Starring Rachel Weisz
I've seen about 15 minutes of it...
While at the Toronto International Film Festival I actually sat down to watch Terence Davies' The Deep Blue Sea, an adaptation of the 1952 play by Terence Rattigan, but it has a very slow and artful tone to the opening 10-15 minutes and my energy was running so low I just wasn't in the mood for that kind of film. I ended up leaving the screening and heading over to see Butter, a political satire that proved exactly what I needed at the time and that ended up becoming one of my favorite films of the festival. You can read my "A" review right here.
However, after leaving the theater I got in touch with Kevin from The Playlist to ask how The Deep Blue Sea ended up and he absolutely loved it, giving it an A himself in his review. While I don't regret going and seeing Butter, it still pains me I may have missed a great film.
Nevertheless, Music Box Films just acquired The Deep Blue Sea so I'll see it at some point. The film features Rachel Weisz as a woman whose overpowering, obsessive love alienates the men around her and destroys her well-being. Co-starring alongside Weisz is Tom Hiddleston and Simon Russell Beale.
The first trailer for the film debuted on Love of Film and you can watch it directly below as the film hits UK theaters on November 25th. A domestic release date is not yet known.

A lot of people don’t know that the gorgeous and sexy Rachel Weisz is a cougar in The Deep Blue Sea. Tom Hiddleston is 30 and she is 41.
You've got a real caveman's notion of what a 'cougar' is, dude.
How many times are you going to say that around the web Ed?
