Summit has released the trailer for Remember Me, their next Robert Pattinson film following up on this weekend's release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and it might not be too bad once you get beyond the fact it looks like a typical "bad boy meets good girl" scenario.

In the film Pattinson stars as Tyler, a rebellious young man in New York City who has a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan). Tyler didn’t think anyone could possibly understand what he was going through until the day he met Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through an unusual twist of fate. But soon, hidden secrets are revealed, and the circumstances that brought them together slowly threaten to tear them apart.

The film also stars Chris Cooper as de Ravin's father and is directed by Hollywoodland helmer Allen Coulter.

It's set for release on February 12, 2010. You can check out the trailer directly below and I have added 13 screen captures from the trailer to the gallery right here.

You can watch the trailer in high definition at My Space.

There is actually a huge twist in this film. The script is excellent. i think you'll be shocked.

wow … thats really all i have to say i mean this movie looks interesting its so weird for me to say such a thing with Robert Pattison in it as he looks as if he is acting and doing a good job. Emilie De Ravin, i have never seen her in any other movies but she looks as if she has been doing the acting for years, looks like a pro. Odd movie for Chris Cooper and Pierce Brosnan to be in IMO but it looks as if they fit the picture. looks decent

This role seems like it should have went to Jim Sturgess. Rob seems liek he's doing a good job, hopefully since Harry Potter, but I can't stand looking at him anymore.

I'm actually looking forward to this, maybe I'm a sucker for the coming of age film but this looks like Pattison is actually acting.

It's probably more the guitar in the background, but the trailer looks admirable, at the very least the teenagers who rush in their hundreds to see it will probably have an O.K experience from it.

See, Robert Pattinson IS a good actor! When he has something to work with, that is. He was great in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. But with "Twilight" he and Kristen Stewart aren't great actors, despite their talent, because they have nothing realistic to work with. But, and I know I've said this a million times, that's why I love Twilight: it's so ridiculous and great for the laughs (all unintended, of course). And, while Pattinson will always be known for playing Edward Cullen, at least he has the one other major role of Cedric Diggory to his name. That'll help him not be typecast, I think/hope.

  7. The ending of the this movie is all people will talk about.

The release date for this was changed to March 12th 2010.

I think this movie will be great! Its looks awesome and so does the story line. I like Rob as an actor. I like the dark rebellious character he plays! Cant wait to see it =)

@Brian Zitzelman: Why do people keep saying "wait till the end, the end is shocking, etc."? That's very annoying to people who do not know the end. So what gives? Does he die or something?

@Angel: ltmq. People just seem to like the fact that the ending is dramatic. In my opinion, without giving away much, the entire movie is a little ludicrous, in that it is based on coincidence in general, and severely coincidental tragedy in particular, both of which are highly improbable. The fact that it is improbable makes the basic plot premise seem unnatural and contrived, and written simply to try and tug at fangirl emotions, especially because it is a Summit film with Pattinson in the lead. Not that he will play the character poorly or anything. Robert Pattinson doesn't seem to have much talent, but neither does this Tyler Roth character, so well. Sorry for all the endless meandering unsolicited critiquing.

Oh, in case you want an explicit answer to your question, rent this Indian film off netflix if you get it. The ending is exactly the same. In fact, unless there's been a late screenplay revision, the scene is also shockingly similar. Film name is: Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota. But I'd like to clarify, the films have very different plots, and there is a possibility this (re: Remember Me) might be better executed, all this (re:YHTKH) film will do is give you an exact answer to your question without spoiling it for anyone else.

For all the people saying the end is brilliant, I'd like to point out people watch a film for the full 2 hours or so of content. The 10 last minutes are only like 5-10% of the film.

  13. Paolo

I really thought Bob Pattinson was gonna show snippets of good acting in the trailer, but no, it's just a good American accent coming out a Brit. Nothing else to see here.

  14. is it me or Does Robert Pattinson have the biggest head EVER? Like not metaphorically, literally! LOOK AT THAT PICTURE!

    that's what she said lol

First to the idiots who keep talking about twists, STOP! Learn how to review or talk about a film and it's major themes without giving important points away. Jeesh. There are a lot of people who worked hard on this film so try and remember that. And thsi movie is NOT just about it's ending. AT. ALL.

Second, to everyone who says this trailer looks predictable or coincidental, I suggest you do some research. This script was on the 2008 Blacklist and a lot of people wanted in on it including Cooper, Brosnan, Lena Olin and Martha Plimpton to name just a few. It was a hot property that Jenny Lumet re-worked along with Fetters. And to people who think this is some sissy love story, it's not. The love story is a simple sub-plot built around an intensely character-driven family drama. Is there some humor? Yes, pretty dark at that. This is also NOT some coming of age story…It is more about how a family copes with life and losses and a young man struggling with finding an anchor in his own life — it's a very simple, random story about intertwined families and relationships told in an extremely poignant way that will have people walking out of the theater asking themselves questions and thinking about the people in their own lives – friends and parents, etc. It's got an awesome cast and the script is absolutely wonderful and not TYPICAL at all. I hope people will support it when it's released in March because the themes of the movie alone are worth seeing it for and any movie that makes you think about things other than yourself is a step in the right direction for Hollywood in my book. Plus, early screenings have been received VERY well this past month. Coulter has made a really good little film.

To all the people that comment on the movie is only to tug at fangirls' heartstrings and that he ending is the most brilliant thing ever, the movie is WAY more than that. The script was on the 2008 Blacklist and was wanted by many actors, like Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper. Just because Robert Pattinson plays the lead does not mean it is automatically a teen girl movie. Also even though the ending is good and unexpected, it is the end, and there is a lot of events that precede it. The rest of the movie is as interesting and should be looked at too. I think many people will be impressed by this movie(at least, of what I have seen of the script) and Robert's acting.
