Trailer for 'All Good Things' Starring Kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling
Are we looking at an Oscar contender?

Magnolia Pictures has just released the trailer for All Good Things starring Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst. The film is directed by Andrew Jarecki (Capturing the Friedmans) and written by the writing duo Marcus Hinchey and Marc Smerling. The film was inspired by the story of Robert Durst (Gosling), scion of the wealthy Durst family. Durst was suspected but never tried for killing his wife Kathie (Dunst) who disappeared in 1982 and was never found. The original script was developed by Jarecki, Smerling and Hinchey.
The film is being eyed as a potential Oscar contender and co-stars Frank Langella, Lily Rabe, Philip Baker Hall, Nick Offerman and Kristen Wiig. Magnolia picked the film up back in late August and will send it into theaters on December 3rd.
For Gosling this will be one of two roles that could potentially earn him an Oscar nomination. Right now I have him on the outside looking in in my #6 slot in the Best Actor race for his role in Blue Valentine. Right now it's a pretty tough race as I think there are only two slots up for grabs with Colin Firth (The King's Speech), Robert Duvall (Get Low) and James Franco (127 Hours) as locks for nominations.
I recently moved Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) into the top five (which would actually make him the tenth youngest nominee ever) and added Gosling's All Good Things performance to the race as I didn't previously have him in there.

This looks awesome! Mmmm! Ryan Gosling!
Great trailer. It doesn't really look like an Oscar film but I hope i'm wrong..I hope Gosling eventually gets the Oscar he deserves.
Looks like a really great movie! Can't wait to see it.
Would disagree on your assumption that Duvall is a lock for Actor. Mediocre film, August release will hurt him. He's done easily a dozen roles far better than the old codger he plays so uncompellingly in this film…
Kinda agree on this. I don't think Duvall and Barden will make it to this year's nominations list. Colin Firth, in my opinion, is the only safe bet at the moment.
Gosling, Bridges, Franco, and Eisenberg are frontrunners with Wahlberg and probably Nicholson are eyeing those spots.
nicholson? for what
On the other hand, never underestimate the Academy's ability to throw a nomination to an old timer every once in a while, especially one as well regarded as Duvall.
This looks like it could be great. The trailer definitely makes it look rather thriller-ish, but I have high hopes for the film itself.
Looks good.
When I first heard about the film I had 'Reversal of Fortune' in my head, but the trailer makes it out to be something a little different.
It looks interesting but I don't know if it's a cinema must see kind of film.
I was really excited about this one when I first heard the premise and with Kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling, what could go wrong? I remember seeing the international trailer awhile back, which really wasn't a very good representation but after this trailer, my excitement is back. Am I the only one though that feels this trailer is kind of poorly put together? Something about it comes off cheap to me, however, looking past that I feel that the trailer might be misleading to the gem this movie could be. Can't wait to see this!
