Josh Hutcherson in Escobar: Paradise Lost

Another film that looks like it will elude me at this year's Toronto Film Festival is Andrea Di Stefano's Escobar: Paradise Lost starring Benicio del Toro, Josh Hutcherson and Claudia Traisac. The film already premiered in Telluride and will next move to TIFF before Radius releases it in November and today we have an official international trailer for the movie.

The story centers on Nick (Hutcherson), a young surfer who thinks all his dreams have come true when he visits his brother in Colombia. Against an idyllic backdrop of blue lagoons and white beaches, he falls madly in love with Maria (Traisac), a beautiful Colombian girl. It all seems perfect until he meets her uncle, Pablo Escobar (Del Toro).

Watch the trailer below and let me know if you think I'm making a mistake missing out on this one.

    Looks above-medium to me.

Huge fan of Benicio. That being said, this looks absolutely terrible. I can't help but be reminded of "Medellin" from Entourage. But at least Medellin had a good trailer.

Looks interesting! I hope Hutcherson can break out post-Hunger Games.
