Dreamworks' Kung Fu Panda 2 is currently a bit of a box-office disappointment, and an inexplicable one if you ask me considering these films pretty much sell themselves and while I didn't necessarily think it was a very good sequel to a pretty good original film, I still would take me kids to see it if I had kids and if I wanted to take 'em to a movie.

That said, Dreamworks Animation's next film is the Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots, which I could have seen some footage from while I was in Cannes, but the screening would have prevented me from seeing Midnight in Paris and I wasn't about to miss that. So, I can't tell you anymore about the film than we already know, which is that it follows Puss's (Antonio Banderas) early adventures as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the street-savvy Kitty (Salma Hayek) to steal the famed goose that lays the Golden Eggs.

Puss in Boots hits theaters on November 4 opposite Oscar contender My Week with Marilyn, Brett Ratner's Tower Heist and A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas. Check out the new trailer below and let me know what you think in the comments.

It looks great.. IMO they did great job with Shrek 4 and this also seems to be very fun spin-off. I can't wait!

I'm just happy that Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas are working together again lol

    ya…actually looks pretty entertaining…damnit

The Humpty character looks about as charismatic and eggciting as an 'egg' can possibly be, i.e. not at all, and the quips the characters are making are just awful. But I love the 'reverting to cat-behaviour' schtick that Puss falls into now and then, so maybe the slapstick will save this film.

  7. can't wait to see this movie over the weekend…been loving all the previews, especially the trailer that features "Americano" by Lady Gaga – what a perfect song for that character! (you can watch it here)
