Trailer and Poster for Controversial 'The Killer Inside Me'
Film hits theaters and on demand on June 18
Apple has debuted the trailer and IFC has sent over the poster for Michael Winterbottom's controversial The Killer Inside Me based on the classic novel by legendary pulp writer Jim Thompson and starring Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba. The film has gained quite the reputation for its violence as it tells the story of handsome, unassuming small town sheriff's deputy Lou Ford (Affleck), whose world cracks – unbridling his own dark urgesa as a sadist, a psychopath… a killer.
IFC will release the film in theaters and on demand on June 18. The trailer and poster are directly below and you can get a larger look at the poster right here.

In theaters & On Demand? I'm taking that to mean it will be getting a very small theatrical release, and I'm going to miss it the same as I did Antichrist. :(
Also, having a quote by Stanley Kubrick isn't exactly a selling point, because Kubrick's been dead 10 years. What was that all about? I know Kubrick was talking about the original story and not the movie, but still…
The fact that it was On Demand was the only reason I DIDN'T miss Antichrist.
straight up. i agree with kevin. ^^
Looks great. I'll be "on demanding" that as soon as its available. It's really nice that IFC does that for certain movies, especially for someone like me who doesn't live within two hours of an "art house" theater.
This looks great – looking forward to seeing this one, seen a few adverts for it around London.
Ive never heard of the book, but that quote about affleck in the trailer has me thinking he could turn some heads come oscar time, and i hope he does. He's had some good roles and he continues to surprise me.
I had really high hopes for him as well, but the ultra-limited release dump seems like it will hurt his chances. I'm still hoping for the best as I love Casey's work.
THEY STOLE A LINE FROM "THE DARK KNIGHT"!!!!!
The Dark Knight
"It's always darkest just before the dawn"
The Killer Inside Me
"It's always lightest just before the dark"
Sort of hard to say that about a film adapted from a 1952 novel in which that exact line appears.
I think the Jim Thompson novel was originally published in 1952. The trailer looks… interesting, to say the least. Still have reservations about the acting ability of Jessica Alba, but Affleck looks good.
Yeah I think that saying was around well before Dark Knight, or the novel of which this film is based upon.
