Trailer and Pics for Julia Roberts's 'Eat, Pray, Love'
Can Julia nail down a fourth Oscar nom?
Photo: Columbia Pictures
I featured Eat, Pray, Love in part two of my Preliminary Oscar Contenders list and today I added nine new images from the film and now our first look at the trailer arrives.
"Nip/Tuck" creator Ryan Murphy is directing and the film stars Julia Roberts in the adaptation of the Elizabeth Gilbert memoir penned by Murphy in which she'll play the author, and Javier Bardem will play Felipe, the man Gilbert meets and falls in love with on the final leg of a journey of self-discovery that began with the end of her marriage. Richard Jenkins, Viola Davis and Billy Crudup co-star.
I called it this year's potential Blind Side saying it could potentially earn Roberts a fourth Oscar nomination. Check out the trailer and tell me what you think. Can you see a possible Best Picture nomination with this one now that the Academy has upped it to ten?
After you watch the trailer, you can browse the RopeofSilicon gallery for the film right here.
Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having – a husband, a house, a successful career – yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life. Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. In her travels, she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali. Based upon the bestselling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love proves that there really is more than one way to let yourself go and see the world.

Looking Good but Oscar Contender…I think rare chances
This looks to be a good film. Oscar? Who knows? If the Blind Side could make it in. Perhaps a nom for Julia but she will have a lot of comepetition. I am looking forward to seeing this.
always love julia roberts i can't wait to see this.
This looks pretty good…Julia Roberts is mostly good and with Sandra Bullock winning Best Actress this year (Thankfully, Maybe Roberts can sneek in a nomination.
It would take a threat of physical violence for me to watch this. The book is trite, new-age mumbo-jumbo and the presence of Julia Roberts in ANY film has never enhanced the experience!
