The RopeofSilicon.com database is now up to 4,510 movies at this very moment. The 4,510th film that was just added was one I would prefer to have never considered, but now that it has a release date and will likely manage to find itself inside the box-office top ten when it's released on August 18, I simply had to add it. That movie is Vampires Suck from Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the writer/director duo that brought you Date Movie, Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans.

Of course, the first question anyone will ask is, "How do these guys keep getting money to make movies?" Well, consider the fact Date Movie was made for a reported $20 million and turned $48 million domestic and another $36 million foreign. Then Epic Movie made $39 million domestic and another $47 million foreign. Finally, Meet the Spartans took home $38 million domestic and $46 million foreign. Essentially, these guys have consistently made movies that make around $85 million worldwide. Considering they are made for damn near peanuts and Vampires Suck spoofs the Twilight franchise, I wouldn't be surprised if this one manages over $100 million in worldwide ticket sales.

Just watch the trailer, it looks just as bad as all the rest and I would be willing to bet Twilight fans won't be able to resist seeing something that references their beloved Edward and Bella and makes fun of them at the same time. They'll see it just to hate on it.

I kind of feel bad for actually laughing at the part at the end. It's actually true.

  2. Jimmy.

As much as I despise all things Twilight, this looks godawful.

  3. roysquad

wow this movie will fail epically

  4. Chuckled at the "My contract says…" part and the part in the end. Other than that, god-awful/

That part with the Black Eyed Peas joke wasn't even close to funny. I don't even understand how they could be mistaken when there's a white guy! Last time I checked, the Black Eyed Peas don't even have a white male member. Whatever, I'll definitely skip this one.

    • Trishila

If you see the black-eyed peas clip on youtube the white guy complains that everyone thinks they are the black-eyed peas even though the black-eyed peas don't have a white guy. They haven't shown the whole thing here. It's just a trailer after all.

Who cares about this Twilight insult…but anyway, The Adjustment Bureau got delayed! Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait one more year for Emily Blunt's awards chances to sprout.

  7. Joel

As much as I hate these Friedberg Seltzer collaboration, this looks like a right "IN THE FACE" spoof to Twi-Hards.

  8. Even though this looks stupid. I'm still gonna see it because it makes fun of twilight and i hate twilight.

PS-Was that Ken Jeong (Mr. Chow from the Hangover) at 01:10 in the trailer. He looks a lot like him.

  9. MAK

    @TS

    It was him.

probably will be better then disaster movie, but keep in mind, could be worse….

  11. JM

I'll see it for free on the internet just because sometimes I like to see a really, really bad movie (I watched "Disaster Movie" and "Ben and Arthur" and "The Room"–all rock-bottom terrible films, and had fun doing it). And because it spoofs Twilight. But I'm not giving it a cent of my money.

  12. Seiko

I don't get it; it looks pretty hysterical. I think a big part of a lot of spoof movies that turn out unfunny are because they are more of a series of random, disconnected jokes than actually spoofing something (or an actual movie for that matter). It's obvious this one is primarily "Twilight", they've only got two movies so far to work with, right?
Also the one guy in the Black Eyed Peas (only remember them when they were not the worst band ever), called "Taboo," is pretty light. Obviously the other guy and girl are Will.i.am. and Fergie…

  13. Guillermo

Seiko, the only reason these movies look hysterical is because they take all the funny parts from the movie and put them in the trailer. I found that out when i saw the trailer for epic movie and i thought it looked hilarious, but it sucked.

  14. I realized you didn't mention Disaster Movie at all in this article. That wasn't consistent with the other ones.

  15. Topy

Are you kidding? This could be the Next Superhero Movie! The Best Bad Spoof movie excluding Scary Movie!

  16. Jay

no1 is going to watch this drivel. each of their movies mades less than the last. dont give the Date Movie guys any attention. Its not our fault foreigners cant discern whats a good american movie as well as americans can. youll have some pple in europe who r like "lets watch this funny american movie," they wont get the jokes but these shmucks will get the money

  17. RIPsquishy

as awful as that looks, i may go see it…uh oh.

  18. Brandy

I want to watch this movie just for the fact that they are ragging on the Twilight movies. I like the Twilight movies but i am not obsessed with them as everyone else seems to be, and when i say everyone i mean teenage girls.
Why is everyone ragging on this movie 'Vampires Suck', its a MOVIE, its not to be taken seriously, and if you do take it seriously than you need some professional help. Lay of the movies and get a life.

    • Matthew

Bullshit. If you're making a film, you gotta take it seriously. Don't tell me it's just a movie. As a filmmaker myself, it kills me that people can actually sit through this garbage. They don't even try with these movies.

Haha it looks awful but excellent at the same time! Spoofs are never actually good films, that common knowledge, but they are worth watching for a few laughs! It's harmless stuff. And anything that takes the piss out of Twilight is fine by me. I'll be seeing it :) Sure to get a giggle at least a few times!!!

  20. I'm not drinking orange juice

i was really excited to see this movie until i looked into it and discovered that it was absolute crap! why the heck would these rapscallions give "twi-hards" any dissing point?! this movie is worse than twilight itself! i think just watching the originals and mocking them myself would be more entertaining!

  21. linloo2

I disagree with most of yhou! Think of all the spoofs you've seen. I bedtg none of them were good. So lay off! Its not supposed gto be laugh out loud hilarious. You all don't like twilight so why would you like the spoof!! Duh!!! So calm down its just a movie.

  22. Kathryn

I think it looks quite funny to be honest. Not laugh out loud funny all the time, because spoofs never are, but some of the parts look quite good!

Oh well, I got free cinema vouchers from my supermarket so I'm going to go see it, and if it sucks, I haven't wasted any money and I'll have had a good day out with my friends, and we can all joke and complain about it afterwards.

Lighten up, people, it's a harmless movie :)
