Tim Robbins will next be seen in the highly anticipated War of the Worlds for Paramount Pictures, but he is already working his way into his next project as the star is in negotiations for a leading role in the political thriller Hot Stuff for Working Title and director Phillip Noyce.

The film is based on the true story of an ordinary man forced to resort to terror, is set to begin filming in August on location in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Mozambique, Swaziland and in the industrial zone and coal fields around Secunda, where the actual story took place. Even though the film centers around actual events Robbins will be playhing a fictional role in the feature as a policeman serving in the brutal apartheid era in South Africa.

The story moves into present day South Africa and also stars Derek Luke as Patrick Chamusso, the real life saboteur sentenced to 24 years imprisonment for his daring solo attacks against the apartheid regime. Bonnie Mbuli features as Luke's wife.

The screenplay is by Shawn Slovo, the daughter of murdered anti-apartheid activist Ruth First and leading African National Congress figure Joe Slovo and her relationship with her mother was the inspiration for her first screenplay.
