Thornton is an 'Astronaut'
Satircial comedy from the Polish.
Variety is reporting that Billy Bob Thornton has just been attached to yet another flick, this time for the Polish brothers in Astronaut Farmer which Mark and Michael Polish penned and Michael will direct for Warner Independent Pictures. Polish last directed Northfork back in 2003.
The film is a satirical comedy about an astronaut who is forced to leave NASA in order to save his family farm. But he can't give up his dream of space travel and looks to build his own rocket, despite threats by the government to stop him.
Apparently the film is still looking for a leading lady, yet it is set to begin filming down in New Mexico next month, early next month. So expect word on Thronton's female counterpart soon, because if production doesn't start on time either this film or Billy Bob's project over at Weinstein Co. will be in jeopardy as it is scheduled to begin in October.
