Disney expands, Eastwood arrives and 'A Single Man' is worth your attention
I should mention, that while it's not featured below because it was released on a limited basis on November 25, Disney's The Princess and the Frog goes wide this weekend and my review has just been published, which you can read right here if you like. Beyond that there are some good films in theaters this weekend although some of them are in limited theaters and others aren't action-packed extravaganza's, but that will be remedied in seven days.
Let's have a look at what you get to choose from this week.

| My review is here and just yesterday I posted a couple of interesting behind-the-scenes tidbits, which you can read right here. Obviously I liked this film, and while the ending didn't fully satisfy me I would recommend this film to anyone, if only to take in Colin Firth's performance along with the supporting performances of Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode. This film is rated R for some disturbing images and nudity/sexual content. | |
| The Lovely Bones |
| Invictus |
| Slammin' Salmon |

"Invictus" was just okay for me, held together by the two main actors and pretty much nothing else. "The Lovely Bones" was mostly terrible, video-game-y and overwrought to the max. But the actors were fantastic. "The Princess and the Frog" is a marvelous animated treasure, in my opinion. I didn't have a problem with the thin storyline at all. "A Single Man" is also one of the best films of the year and Colin Firth was just plain breathtaking.
I haven't read your reviews Brad, cuz I don't want to be spoiled, but based on your grades, I'm really interested in Avatar now. I've always wanted to see A Single Man, but it isn't playing in Chicago yet. I think I'll wait for Invictus. I'm also curious about The Lovely Bones.
I may be seeing Princess and the Frog tomorrow.
Brad,
I enjoyed reading your recent reviews. I am looking forward to seeing Invictus.
