Back in November '04 Variety reported news that Spyglass Entertainment and DreamWorks Pictures had teamed together along with scriptwriter David Goyer to put together the English-language remake of the Swedish supernatural thriller The Invisible. Now, Disney has bought domestic distribution rights as Goyer moves not only into the writer's chair but also the director's.

Goyer will direct the feature, which now sits on a schedule set to begin lensing this fall.

The story is based on Swedish supernatural film "Den Osynlige," penned by Mick Davis. A teenager is attacked and left for dead, then finds himself in limbo, invisible to the living and racing against time to find his body before he truly perishes. The only person who might be able to save him is his attacker, a troubled girl on the run from the law.

Goyer most recently penned the script for Batman Begins and helmed Blade: Trinity
