The Official 'Machete' Trailer Slices Online
Hoping for the best with this one
20th Century Fos has released the official trailer for Machete of which I, along with several other websites, debuted exclusive images late last night. (Speaking of the images from last night, be sure to look at the poster JoBlo has up.)
The film, for those of you that clicked on this article and have ignored all other news up to this point, is based on the faux trailer that was presented as part of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's 2007 Grindhouse double feature. The feature adaptation centers on the renegade former Mexican Federale, Machete (Danny Trejo), as he the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Jeff Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Shé (Michelle Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Cheech Marin) his "holy" brother, and April (Lindsay Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Jessica Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.
Machete will be released by 20th Century Fox on September 3. Check out the trailer directly below.

Awesome. Im really excited for this one. Lets hope its as good as it looks.
wow this looks really awesome!!Excited to see the Seagal VS Trejo fight
pretty slick and cool for a trailer hope it is the same in theaters
This will be epic! I'm going opening day!!!
Am I the only one who is not impressed with Robert Rodriguez films?
I've never been a big fan of Rodriguez, his style his similar to Tarantino but the scripts are much weaker, meaning that the character development and the dialogue are missing. He seems to be going even further down Tarantino path here by trying to revive someones career (Seagal).
From the trailer it seems to be like Desperado vs Kill Bill
Opening Weekend:
Grindhouse + MacGruber divided by 2 = $12.5M
Add Robert de Niro, Steven Seagal, Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba = $32.5M
Opens a week before 9/11 = $28.5M
Good weekend, bad drop.
LOL @ "Introducing Don Johnson"
Saw this trailer before Predators on Friday. My thoughts were that it could either be a lot of fun or total crap.
