Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for the upcoming political comedy The Campaign starring Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell on the heels of a pair of spoof political trailers for the film released earlier this week.
The film centers on a pair of dueling small-town Southern politician. Long-term congressman Cam Brady (Ferrell) has just commit a major public gaffe before an upcoming election and as a result a pair of ultra-wealthy CEOs plot to put up a rival candidate and gain influence over their North Carolina district. That candidate is Marty Huggins (Galifianakis), director of the local Tourism Center. Jason Sudeikis, Dylan McDermott, John Lithgow, Dan Aykroyd and Brian Cox co-star.
I am actually looking forward to this picture though I do have one small concern, director Jay Roach, whose work involves the Austin Powers franchise and the loathsome Meet the Parents franchise, even his Dinner for Schmucks wasn't very good. I guess we'll find out on August 10 if he was able to capture more Austin Powers and less crap with this film, but if you look at the seven films that make up the list I just mentioned, there is certainly more crap than quality to be found.
I love politics, and I love these guys. But I didn't laugh once at this trailer.
Some chuckles here and there, funny, I guess.
I'm still somewhat interested, but this trailer looks god awful. "I let a donkey lick my weiner." "your momma is like a vacuum". I literally cringed. It seems as if all the summer comedies will disappoint me- Ted, The Watch.
Okay trailer, great cast. I hope that it is funny and saving all of the funny parts for the movie.
didnt think the punching the baby part was really funny... Just bad.. otherwise looks decent.
Voted unfunny for use of that gall dern overplayed Black Keys song.
