Poster for 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D' is All Gruesome and Stuff

COMMENTS

Which mask are you wearing?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3DLionsgate has debuted the first poster for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D from Takers helmer John Luessenhop.

The film was originally supposed to hit theaters this October, but was pushed to January 4, 2013 and if I had to guess at a reason why it would simply be to create some space between it and Paranormal Activity 4. Because what is the point in competing for horror eyes when you could just go somewhere where you're the only horror game in town?

As for the story, the film is being sold as a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper's 1974 classic, picking up decades later and miles away from the original massacre in Newt, Texas where it will follow a young girl named Heather (Alexandra Daddario), who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance where they eventually have a run in with Leatherface, this time played by Dan Yeager though archival footage of Gunnar Hansen in the role is said to be included.

So check out the poster below and stay tuned as I'm sure we'll have a trailer any day now.

It's a fantastic poster. Love the aesthetic. It's in keeping with the look of the last two interpretations, yet has a little of its own flavor. It's not messing around in any case, and nor should it.

I'm guessing Laremy wouldn't touch this film with a ten foot pole.

I know it won't be anywhere near the original (one of my personal favorites), but damn this poster's beautifully put together. Pray it's not godawful!

The aesthetic qualities of the latest TCM films aren't the problem... More often than not they look beautiful and are shot with some degree of integrity. Same goes for the promotion, I remember the original remake, TCM, having some pretty decent one-sheets.

The issue is always the story - or rather lack thereof. No substance. Hoping this one changes that.
