Terry Gilliam On Heath Ledger
This is why the fate of 'The Dark Knight' doesn't matter
Quoted by Variety based on an interview given last month by director Terry Gilliam who worked with Heath Ledger on The Brothers Grimm and was working with him on The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Gilliam had this to say:
Heath is extraordinary. He's just so good, and he’s going to be a film director. He's watching everything, and he's going to be a much better director than I will ever be."
Ledger was expected to make his feature film directing debut on an adaptation of the Walter Tevis novel "The Queen’s Gambit," with British writer/producer Allan Scott.
The leading role of a young female chess prodigy had been offered to Oscar nominee Ellen Page. Ledger, himself a highly rated chess player, was due to play a supporting role.

Um yes the fate of the Dark Knight does matter! This better not fuck up its release! If he couldn't sleep maybe he should have tried a more well balanced diet or more exercise! Hey maybe even some marriage counseling would have done him some good! Don't get me wrong this is a tragedy nevertheless but I just can't find myself sympathetic for someone who dies from drug related causes. No one made him take those drugs! They may have been prescribed but I get the feeling he probably took a little more than he was supposed to! At least he went out at the top of his career!
It's people like you who are wrong with the world. For God's sake, the man couldn't SLEEP. So he took a few more pills than he was supposed to. It was an ACCIDENT. Show some damn respect.
Well maybe if he hadn't resorted to drugs in order to sleep then he would still be alive is all I'm saying. I didn't shove those pills down his throat….he did. As far as I'm concerned it was suicide! He would still be alive had he handled his problems like a real man and got real help but instead he resorted to drugs! Was it an accident for him to pop all those pills in his mouth? Not unless he tripped on his own dick and somehow shallowed them on the way down! If he was that worried about needing drugs to sleep then he should have just smoked some pot and took his ass to bed! I personally don't think the rest of the cast and crew of Dark Knight should have to suffer from one less drug addict in the world? Let me guess, you'll all feel sorry for Amy Winehouse too when she dies at the hands of her crackpipe won't you?
Hey tycox, gonna have to ask that you chill out. There are absolutely no details available related to his death and you are coming off as a proper cock, and quite frankly it is entirely inappropriate.
So it would've been OK with you if he had become a pothead instead of taking some sleeping pills so he could sleep? You know, if you don't sleep, you do die. You go insane and die. He was just trying to sleep. To get better. It was an accident. Hell, maybe it was suicide. But nothing points to it. And we'll never know. But, for all anyone knows, he was happy, and couldn't wait to do more things with his life. So, if you want to look at it as suicide, fine. But you don't need to share your rude, insensitive, and ignorant comments with us. We don't appreciate them. Because we actually care about more than just the fate of a stupid movie. We care about a person. A real human being. Who has died. DIED. That is the tragedy. Not the fucking "Dark Knight."
Thank you.
…And sorry if I come off sounding rude or inappropriate as well. It just pisses me off that people are viewing his death like this.
