Summit Updates: Release Date for 'The Hurt Locker', Synopsis for 'Eclipse' and Clip from 'Knowing'
Looking forward to June
Summit Entertainment sent over an update today which included word Kathryn Bigelow's festival favorite The Hurt Locker will hit theaters on June 26. I have been anxiously waiting for this movie since hearing some wild descriptions as to the harsh nature of it all so it is nice to finally get a firm release date for it. The synopsis reads as follows:
Inspired by true events and recently declassified information, The Hurt Locker follows an elite Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team in present-day Baghdad that fights an onslaught of bombs and snipers. Renner will play the leader of the team, while Mackie and Geraghty are members of it. Fiennes is a mercenary; Pearce is another member.
Also included was the official word The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released June 30, 2010 with the following synopsis:
In Twilight's saga Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.
Finally we have a new clip from the Nic Cage thriller Knowing directed by Alex Proyas, a film I recently learned I am probably not going to be able to see thanks to a screening conflict and I just can't pass up checking out the new Clive Owen and Julia Roberts feature. So, I guess I should start watching more of the clips and trailers for this film to try and figure out how a series of numbers tells Nicolas Cage not only when and how many people are going to die but also where, does that magical number list come with latitude and longitude numbers along with a Google Maps link? This new clip would lead us to believe he doesn't know where so something tricky must happen. Oh, the chills, they send the shivers. Can you feel it?
Either way, Knowing hits theaters on March 20. Check out the clip below and our gallery of end of the world style stills (including six new ones) right here.

im excited about this movie. i saw a teaser for this last summer and i have been excited for this ever since
We already saw this movie with Nicolas Cage in it a couple years ago.
It was called Next. This is the same movie?
Couldn't he do a sequel to Ghost Rider or National Treasure3?
Knowing sounds pretty stupid, but The Hurt Locker was a great flick. Jeremy Renner has come a long way since S.W.A.T. that's for sure, and the "cameos" by Ralph Fiennes and Guy Pearce are great. Supertense war thriller, probably the best new Iraq war movie yet (I say that without even thinking about any others, but you get the point of my hyperbole, it's worth seeing).
