'Sucker Punch' Music Video Trailer
It looks cool, but will it be good?
There's no denying Zack Snyder has a flair for spectacular visuals. From Watchmen to 300 and now Sucker Punch he makes a mean looking feature with everything the target demographic is looking for. But his films also tend to lack story or a proper narrative flow. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy Dawn of the Dead or 300, I did, but that doesn't mean they are without flaws. The question now, as Warner Bros. has put additional faith in Snyder handing him the keys to the Superman franchise, how will Sucker Punch perform on March 25?
Here's the latest trailer for the flick and thanks to The Playlist I know it plays to the song "Panic Switch" by Silversun Pickups. Thoughts?
With Snyder at the helm, Sucker Punch stars Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Scott Glenn and Oscar Isaac and has been described as "Alice in Wonderland" with machine guns.

I love the song and the visuals. Hopefully, this will be a good time.
Yet another trailer for this film with no dialogue, which continues to make me think the story will be an absolute mess. And if WB makes him dilute it down to PG-13 so they can sell more tickets to horny teen boys (and also possibly in repayment for him refusing to post-convert to 3D?), it will be even worse.
He didn't write Superman and he is great with visuals so Superman will be incredible.. this looks incredible, music videos wish they looked this good. This actually has an interesting premise so time will tell but this will make money.
I was amused by the advertisement in the UK on WATCHMEN proclaiming Zack Snyder as the VISIONARY behind 'Dawn of the Dead' and '300'; when in fact he'd taken the ideas from established works of George Romero, Frank Miller and subsequently Alan Moore. As the article states Zack Snyder is clearly a very talented individual and excellent visual director but to me a true visionary is someone who mainly creates original works. 'Dawn of the Dead' and '300' were great entertainment but 'Watchmen' was an adaptation too far for him. While it looked amazing the screenplay floundered structurally and worked brilliantly in sections but not as a whole. So style-over-substance the style becomes the substance and I imagine 'Sucker Punch' will be another film like this.
