Strauses' Talk 'AVP 2'
Serious, gritty... words I like

Yesterday we learned that Greg and Colin Strause will be taking on directorial duties on Alien vs. Predator 2, today we get a few words for the vis-fx pros.
Variety picked up the story, which was to be expected, and with the news report that the film is expected to begin shooting in September for a summer 2007 release. Word out of Fox is that August 10, 2007 is the actual date. As well, Shane Salerno, the chap the rewrote the first AVP installment is back and wrote the script on AVP2.
As far as where the Strauses' want to take the film they had this to say to Variety, "We really want to take it back to the original Alien and Predator films and make a serious, gritty horror film… We want to take it back to its roots, without losing sight of the human struggle… That's what made the originals so good."
