Stiller's Red Hour Rides a 'Big Wave'
Ben producing new comedy pitch.
Variety is reporting that Ben Stiller's production house, Red Hour, is set to produce the pitch Big Wave for 20th Century Fox and the directing team of Brendan and Emmett Malloy.
The film is based on an idea by Stiller and is described as a sports comedy about a big-wave surfer who, after being sidelined for years following a traumatic wipeout, decides to surf again in order to raise money to save a convalescent home for old surfers.
Sounds a lot like a stiller pic to me, and in my opinion Stiller pics suck, but I am always willing to give 'em a chance. This one would certainly gain favor if Stiller were not to be involved, but I can only hope.
