'Stepfather' Remake Acquired by Screen Gems
1987 horror to be born again.
Well, horror remakes are 50/50 with me today as I bashed the remake of The Omen and praised the DVD release of The Hills Have Eyes. I guess it is only fitting we have a rubber match as Screen Gems has acquired remake rights to 1987 horror pic The Stepfather for Greg Mooradian and Maverick Films to produce.
The original pic, which I have never heard of, was based on a true story, Terry O'Quinn ("Lost") played a seemingly normal man, who wants the perfect family. When they don't measure up, he eliminates them and moves on to find his next perfect family.
