The 'Star Trek' Villain is Named
Who will be playing the evil Nero?
Variety has announced the name of the villain in J.J. Abrams Star Trek and the role of Nero will be played by none other than Eric Bana. Now you can officially put Star Trek down as my most anticipated movie of 2008.
While plot details remain sketchy we know nothing more than the name and the player, while casting continues for the rest of the characters in New York and London. Variety reports that Abrams will also persue a bigger name actor for the part of the Federation captain. Major USS Enterprise crew members left to be cast include Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy and Engineer Scotty.
Bana joins already cast Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Anton Yelchin and Zoe Saldana.
Filming is set to begin in November with a Christmas Day 2008 release date planned.
