Beyond the darkness lies greatness

Paramount has just released the new, and final, Star Trek Into Darkness trailer as we are now only one month away from the film's May 17 release.

Just yesterday the studio previewed 18 minutes of footage from the upcoming sequel to the CinemaCon audience and while I did my best to avoid descriptions and reactions, a few slipped into my view and were, to no surprise, positive.

The upcoming sequel sees Chris Pine return to the captain's chair aboard the starship Enterprise along with fellow returning stars Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban.

Directed once again by J.J. Abrams the film also features a crop of new stars beginning with Benedict Cumberbatch as the chief villain John Harrison alongside Alice Eve, Peter Weller and Noel Clarke.

Check out the new trailer directly below.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man (Benedict Cumberbatch) weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

This makes some of my fears go away after the last few spots have been massively repetitive. And did I see some Klingons in there?
    Just one more month!

It is beginning to look like they misnamed the movie; it should be Star Trek: People Jumping off of Things.

I'm already up for this one anyway. But not a bad trailer.

Best trailer thus far. I'm biased, but Cumberbatch could play the best antagonist of the franchise.

I don't usually watch trailers but this one is pretty good IMHO. I will see this one I think.

The great thing is that I've seen at least nine trailers and I still don't know what it's all going to lead up to.

Looks great! My most anticipated film of the year, and I wonder who is gonna get the boot (other than red shirts).
