Stalone, Statham and Li are 'Expendable'
Okay, I am in. Whatever it is, sign me up...
I have cut way back on reporting on all the garbage casting news that seems to float around like sewage, but this one was too good to pass up. The Hollywood Reporter says Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham are joining Jet Li in The Expendables. Yeah, generic title, but come on, this is going to involve violent acts of punching, kicking and killing, we don't need a title that tells us anything more than that.
The trio will play mercenaries in which Stallone will direct from his own screenplay. In the flick, the main characters are sent to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator to liberate the population. Their team is "expendable," hired to do jobs that no one else can or will. Filming is expected to begin in February in Costa Rica and Louisiana.
The Expendables is the first film in a two-picture deal Stallone set up with Nu Image/Millennium Films, the second film is expected to be another Rambo feature.
Gotta say, sounds like two films I am ready to see.

Stallone's screenplay and directing? hmmmm, doesn't sound good to me.
I was with you with the kicking, punching and other violence but that put me right off.
Well, Stallone wrote all the Rocky movies, all the Rambo movies and Cliffhanger. As for directing, he directed Rocky 2-5 and Rambo. I don't think it is all that bad that he is writing and directing. There are definite misses (Cobra anyone?), but for the most part I enjoy his work.
I enjoy it as well but it's in no way good.
The last rocky made me smile because it was sooooo bad.
Cant wait to see this, and I hope it does end up getting made with those 3 actors, and personaly I love all the rocky and rambo films so stalon directing it isnt a bad thing in my mind.
