Spy Hunter has been talked about for ages now, the first time I wrote about it was way back in May of 2004John Woo was attached to direct The Rock and while Woo has been off of the project for a while now there is no telling whether The Rock will be recast or not, but I can tell you Paul W.S. Anderson is aboard to direct and even rewrite the project with an un-named screenwriter. Previous drafts of the script were penned by Michael Brandt, Derek Haas, Zak Penn and Stuart Beattie. Who is to say the guy behind Resident Evil and Alien vs. Predator won't do better than those guys?

The film is based on the popular Midway video game and will introduce the never-seen spy hunter who works for a secret government agency. He uses the gadget-packed Interceptor (that can transform from a car into a motorcycle, jet ski and submarine) to hunt down agents and thwart a shadowy terrorist org known as Nostra.

There have already been concept art images and even images of the baddie online, the only thing missing is the actual film.

There is no word on a production start, I am sure Universal is just waiting to see what happens with this new script.
