'Spy Hunter' Gets a Rewrite
Beattie tackling spy material.
Variety announces today that Stuart Beattie has been brought aboard to give the script for the anticipated videogame adaptation of Spy Hunter a rewrite.
The film is set to star The Rock and be directed by John Woo as it focuses in on Alec Sects, commander of the world’s most sophisticated spy vehicle, the G-8155 Interceptor. The film is in works at Universal Pictures who initially brought on Michael Brandt and Derek Hass as writers followed by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.
Beattie did receive a story credit for the smash hit Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, so lets see if a little of that luck rubs off on this one. Perhaps the rewrite was called because Woo was uninspired by the lack of doves in the script… who knows.
