Son of a Bitch, Can This Joss Whedon Interview Be Real?

Ever since setting up my RSS feeds in Google's Reader my life has changed in ways unimaginable. I used to have this crummy RSS Firefox add-on that worked, but oh man it is nothing compared to the Goog's. Case and point would be the fact that I probably never would have seen Gawker's interview with Joss Whedon ("Firefly", "Buffy", Serenity) had it not been for the almighty Reader and this one kicks all kinds of ass.

Joss Whedon news is typically like posting news on Harry Potter or, now, Twilight, meaning if you get something juicy and original the Browncoats will come flocking and this Gawker interview is a great example.

While this may not be the ultimate interview in terms of bringing information it is one great read, which is what interviews should be, not endless streams of "Hey, what about Serenity 2?" questions. Let me give you a sample before I shuffle you off to read the entire thing:

Q. Nathan Fillion strikes me as a great big pirate/cowboy sort of man-among-men. Surely such men cannot sing! Can he? LIke really?

A. Nate's got pipes. (But we used Marni Nixon's voice anyway.) There's very little Nate can't do. He's a renaissance man! Like with the sculpting and the Italian guys!

Q. Quick! Best episode of The Odd Couple ever.

A. The last. No wait! The one in the middle.

Q. No matter where in the world you live nowadays, the monkeys—especially the terrible, terrible spider monkeys—are encroaching with hateful motives. What do you intend to do about this?

A. Until you take Monkey into your heart, you will never be allowed into the Jungle of Heaven.
