'Solomon Kane' Cast Fills Out
Will it actually be a new trilogy or another bust?
Anticipated as a new trilogy, Solomon Kane starring James Purefoy in the lead role has just rounded out its complete cast adding Max von Sydow and Pete Postlethwaite to the fray as they join already cast Rachel Hurd-Wood, Alice Krige and Mackenzie Crook.
The film is adapted from the pulp novels of Robert E. Howard, author of "Conan the Barbarian," first serialized in the 1920s and '30s and described as an epic tale of a 16th century soldier tormented by his past evil deeds, seeking redemption by battling a sinister power threatening the kingdom.
Michael J. Bassett is directing from his own script. Bassett is not really know for much other than a direct-to-video release called Deathwatch and the 2006 horror flick Wilderness which pretty much only saw a release in the UK.
Shooting is due to begin in Prague this month.
